VOTE NOTA

None of the Above for Governor

Send a clear message to Albany. When the major parties fail to represent us, we write in 'None of the Above'. Demanding real political choice, systemic ballot reform, and a government accountable to the people.

Join other New Yorkers protesting the status quo.

Why?

why are
we advocating
a vote for
nota?

1

The ballot is closed by design

After the LPNY's candidate for Governor cleared the old 50,000-vote line in 2018, Albany raised the bar to 130,000 votes every two years. LPNY is off the printed governor’s ballot. Writing in None of the Above is the remaining legal way to refuse that closed slate.

2

a printed name would launder the rules

Putting a name on a petition that cannot reach the ballot treats Albany’s thresholds as legitimate. NOTA refuses that.

3

A counted refusal is the point

The goal is a visible, itemized write-in total that says New Yorkers want real choice and ballot-access reform, not to elect a governor or restore a line this cycle.

CITIZEN ACTION GUIDE

How to Vote None of the Above

A step-by-step tactical guide to lodging a valid protest ballot under New York State electoral rules. Stand up against the binary illusion and make your silent dissent fully counted.

1

Get your ballot

Use an Election Day poll site, early voting, or an absentee ballot. Same race. Same write-in box.

2

Do NOT Select Candidates

Keep all pre-printed bubbles next to official candidates completely blank. Do not make any accidental marks on their rows.

3

Write 'None of the Above'

Locate the 'Write-In' section at the bottom of the candidate list. Fill in the corresponding oval, and clearly write 'None of the Above'.

Write it exactly. NOTA, None Of The Above, and None of the above can be counted as different names.

4

Vote Counted as Protest

Scan your card in the electoral machine. Under state rules, all registered write-ins must be tallied and officially certified in the record.

Scan in person, or seal and mail the absentee. The write-in is the same.

WHAT IT ACCOMPLISHES

THIS IS LIBERTY FROM BELOW

When traditional voting ballots limit choices to the vetted puppets of real-estate developers and billionaire donors, democracy is compromised. NOTA New York stands as an uncompromising movement demanding a real voice. We are reclaiming our collective liberty directly from the ground up, enforcing accountability on a system that has ignored the working class for too long.
